Sleep in. You're surrounded by a week's worth of great adventures. The Hana coast offers some of Hawaii’s most beautiful beaches. From the black sands of Wainapanapa State Park to world famous Hamoa Beach, you can enjoy swimming, snorkeling or surfing close to your doorstep. There are many hidden places for you to explore.

Order the "Sunrise Breakfast" and eat in the comfort of your new hotel room, Hana Kai Maui Resort. Your room is equipped with a queen-size bed, a spacious covered lanai, porcelain tile floors, granite countertops with bar-stools, an expanded glass wall and vinyl lanai doors, a tile and glass shower, teak and bamboo furnishings. It has panoramic oceanfront views where you can experience incredible sunrises and moonlit nights while turtles and dolphins swim nearby in the surf.

Wai'anapanapa State Park

The first destination for today is the Wai'anapanapa State Park. The translation for Wai'anapanapa is "glistening water" or "water flashing rainbow hues", both of which are accurate in describing the powerful contrast between the black, pebble lava field and the deep blue-greens of the ocean.

Attractions in Wai'anapanapa State Park:

Black Sand Beach Beach

Pailoa Beach is small black sand beach with an ocean cave on the east side that can be traveled through to the ocean. There's also a naturally made lava arch in the water.

Legendary Freshwater Caves

2 caves are available to visit via a labyrinth cut through hau grove on a loop trail. The caves are filled with freshwater that floats above salt water, of which some believe had been used for preparing food or washing kapa in ancient times.

Lava Tubes

One of the coolest things to do at the little state park with the big name near Hana on Maui is to swim in a lava tube. And coolest can also apply to the temperature of the water which is fresh water and much cooler than the ocean around Maui.

Ono Organic Farms

Have your lunch at the State Park, then drive to Ono Organic Farms where you'll be taking a 30minute farm tour. The tour package includes a walking tour, and fruit, chocolate and coffee tasting.

Hana Cultural Center and Museum

You should be at the museum for a self guided tour by 3pm because the museum closes at 5pm.

Paniolo Lounge

Take a few hours to rest in your hotel room, then when you're hungry and ready to have dinner, go down to the Paniolo Lounge of the Traavasa hotel and order food and drinks while listening to live hawaiian music
