Welcome to the east side of Hilo aka The Big Island! Start your day right with the complementary breakfast at the Shipman house, wear comfortable shoes and clothes and then at 8:30am, drive to the Hawaii Forest and Trail to catch the tour bus that leaves at 9:00.
Twilight Volcano Adventure
The whole day will be spent on a 12 hour tour around the East side of Hilo.
Journey through Hawaii Island’s incredible range of ecosystems and climate zones before experiencing first-hand the phenomena that makes it all possible – an erupting volcano. This in-depth experience takes you off-the-beaten path to sites unknown to most visitors.
The tour includes a deli style lunch with assorted soft drinks, juices and bottled water. Picnic dinner, snacks, assorted beverages, bottled water, and hot cocoa.

Your interpretive guide will share with you the geology, and natural and cultural history that make Hawaii Volcanoes National Park one of the most fascinating places on earth for residents, scientists, and visitors alike.
Venture down Chain of Craters Road to the coast through rainforests, lava flows, and cinder fields
Get up close and personal with volcanic formations such as lava tubes, steam vents & craters
After dark, experience the red glow of Pele’s eruption deep inside Halemaumau Crater. The volcano is named after the goddess of Fire and it has been active since 1960. The tour package already includes dinner so have fun and interact with the other tourists, take pictures, and then head back to the shipman house and have a good sleep to get ready for tomorrow's activities! :))
